Happy Super Bowl Sunday! Today is always a rough day to be dieting, what with the snacks and goodies all throughout the game. But, I've been really good today so far. I had my godson's birthday party this morning and only ate fruit (no birthday cake or donuts for breakfast) and then went to
Subway® for lunch after the party was over. I'm currently making an alternate version of
365 Days of Slow Cooking's recipe for
Turkey Pot Pie Soup. I've made it before, and it's absolutely delicious! Instead of turkey, I used 4 cups of rotisserie chicken, and I added more peas and mushrooms than it called for, plus a whole chopped onion. Yay veggies!! I also added some garlic powder for some more flavor. I added it up to be about 11
Weight Watchers© Points Plus (since it makes around 8 servings). My mom is making rotel for the game and she'll be putting out snacks like chips and dip,
M&Ms®, etc. It's so easy to just grab a handful of those chocolate delights or snack carelessly on chips and idp, but I'm not going to let myself mindlessly eat without counting my points! I read a quote the other day that has really stuck with me: "
If you skip today, what was yesterday for?" This is so true. If you cheat one day, you've basically thrown all your progress and will power away from the days before and can easily get back on the wrong path. I can do this!
3 days until Weigh-In Wednesday!

Post-Game Recap:
(9:28pm)
Well, everyone. . .I did it (unlike the Broncos)! I stayed within my points value for the day! I had my soup for dinner, fruit for dessert, and an Angry Orchard Hard Cider™ during the game. No snacks, even though my friends and parents made cookies and had snacks out. I'm going to go ahead and pat myself on the back; I made it through my godson's 2nd birthday party where there was cake AND the Super Bowl with all the snacks in the world! Happy day!!!
